1.This is how you died
2.It's fine as it is
3.This is the way
I noticed that people respond badly to this criticism, and jump to silly extremes to defend keeping things as they are.
But the OP isn't wrong that it could be slightly improved. The fact that it can be gotten used to does not mean it cannot be improved.
The difficult part is in getting specific about the problems and improvements.
Also you have to keep in mind your character has momentum, when you turn it takes time, it isn't instant.
Like the others, I see a lot of complaints saying "Improve the controls" or "These controls suck"; But I've never actually seen anyone eloquate what is Wrong with the controls that need to be improved; Or why exactly they suck.
It's plain simple 8 way animation driven movement, WASD, What exactly is there to improve? It's animation driven and intentionally designed so your character feels weighty.
So for example, You're not supposed to be able to just 180 instantaneously at sprinting speed- You have to rotate around in a big C shape to complete a turn. This is 100% intentional.
You're not supposed to just stop on a dime from a sprint/run- It takes time to bleed that momentum out in reality, and it does in game too.
So.. Seriously, OP. What exactly are you expecting to 'Improve' that isn't going to make it unrealistic and unnatural?
Issues with walking, combat, etc.
Because a lot of the time, it's kinda intended to be what it is and you'll get over the controls quickly. Someone spoke more detail about why and such.
That's not to say people can't have different opinions about the controls, but it also means in some cases their wishes won't come true without a mod or a complete overhaul.
I don't want a "git gud" mentality in the community, unless it's a genuine case of people needing to learn by playing more, at which point is a "play more, and thrive even if things go wrong."
So for OP and those who like OP think controls should be 'improved', more elaboration on HOW would be nice and any specific problems.
Please, elaborate otherwise you'll get people telling you controls are fine and you'll get used to it as currently that seems to be mostly the case.
I'm accept the fact somebody can find controls uncomfortable, but heck...
Try to be a bit more constructive.
Tell your ideas, how they could should improve the controls?
It's super comfortable and intuitive for me, though I had to change plenty of the default keys; but I do that before even starting most games I play.
Totally agree with BeetlePie.
The aiming system is good as it is.
Players should learm and accept the fact this is not an fps/tps game, where player skill should has any impact on characters aiming, but only skill lvl.
