Your sparkling majestic fur is enough
Increase Your RAM (You WANT At Least 4 GB. Any less and you may have issues).
1- Navigate to: Steam - Steam Apps - Common - Project Zomboid.
2- Right Click "ProjectZomboid64.json" and open with Notepad or text editor.
3- Find This Line:
"vmArgs": [
"-Djava.awt.headless=true",
"-Xmx1024m",
4- Change the value after "Xmx to the amount of RAM you can set aside for the game.
4096 for 4 GB RAM (if your machine has 8-12, set it to this)
8192 for 8 GB RAM (if your machine has 16 or more, set it to this).
Note: You CAN set it to 16,384 for 16 GB of RAM if your machine has 24 or more. However, this high can actually be worse than using 8 GB.
The settings can safely be changed at any time, so test what works best for your rig.
This will improve stutters and lag.
But bigger system RAM does make PZ running smoothly especially on lower-end machines. A machine with only 4Gb RAM is not recommended, 8Gb is just okay, 12-16Gb will make game runs far more smoother than just 8.
And now the RAM (and SSD) is dirt cheap. Install PZ on a fast SSD is also highly recommended.
Saw post say they doing this instead messing with game file (cant find that post anymore), im also dont like to tweaking with game file, when game update or you doing something wrong, thing can get messy, using launch option seen easy and safe, so someone pls confirm this for me
Also i have 16gb ram, what is optimal amount of ram for me to add in?
without going into specifics, it's probably much safer to just let the software decide how much it wants to use.
