Can't Build walls in project zomboid

So I'm on the second story of my house that I'm building. I cant build walls on the west or south sides. I have the planks in main inventory, I have nails, boxes opened no other walls have given me troubles just these. The shadow wall turns green like I can construct there but when I click character doesn't perform any actions. other walls are working fine. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

are you trying to build walls or frames? cuz you need to build frames first before the walls

Are there floors to the east / south of the walls you are trying to place? Right now, without the floors there are issues placing / upgrading walls. You can place temporary floors, then remove them with a sledgehammer once the walls are placed, upgraded, etc.

It's fixed in the upcoming 41.72

UPDATE: putting floors on the outside of the south and west walls worked! thanks for the advice, hopefully they will fix this soon!
