Looking for deck like floor as in Lake House
I want to build an outside area in my base with a deck like floor, such as in the Lake House:

I haven't found it in the build menu and I'd rather not destroy the Lake House. Are there any other places with that kind of flooring or is it possible to build it?

Can't you just try picking it up to see the tile's name? Pretty sure this is a new tile. So most likely you'll find them more often around the newer parts of the map.
You can 'copy' (almost) any tile in the world with the debug menu.

Good idea about the 'newer parts of the map'. I can look there. Thanks.

What do you mean with 'copy'? In debug mode I can pick up a tile using the same pickup menu on the left of the screen as in normal mode. Do you mean something else?

In debug mode (start menu with -debug) you have a debug icon on the top left, click it.

On that menu, select the 'cheats' button option.

On that menu, check the box for Brush Tool.

Now you can right-click an object and you will have an option to 'copy tile' and you select what you want to copy.

Your cursor will turn into that object and you place it anywhere you want with a left click.

Here is an example of my current base.

I've tried it. It's a great option and it works. Big advantage is that you can lay down floor tiles without having to move furniture or other objects that are on the floor. So I've put down a new floor in my house with the brush tool. But after that I can only pick up floor tiles with the left menu pickup option and not chairs or anything that is on the floor. Even when unchecking the brush tool option I still can only pick up the new floor tiles. Going into normal mode (not debug) it's still the same: can only pick up the new floor tiles.

I had to load a previous save to get things working as normal again . Have I done something wrong?

No, that is not how you pick things up.

With the 'pick up' tool selected, press the "R" key to cycle through the multiple items that are in a single cell.

You start with the 'floor' because that is the last item placed down.
If it is an object/item that you normally cannot pick up with the pick up tool, such as pavement, instead of selecting 'copy tile' you select 'delete tile' and select the tile you want deleted, such as the pavement tile in my example.

I just copied an outside 'well' and pasted it at my base. Now I have an infinite fresh water well on my property. Sweet!

Of course, didn't think of it. Thanks a lot!

Wow, this opens up a lot of possibilities. Great for base building. Very inspiring. Thanks again!

Thanks! :)

I have added more, the debug menu really rocks!

Base in B42 using Debug:

Overview of building, parking lot and surrounding.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3430453779

Water well, vegetable garden, park, fuel pump, and animal pen with security wall.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3430454430

Closer view of interior all in range of 1 generator. Enertainment wing, warehouse, secure storage, two bedrooms, full bathroom, kitchen and a work area.

You may also notice things like 'real doors', not the plank ones you can build. And the sidewalks all have curbing and the paths have 'grass' along the edges. You start to realize all the little details in the game maps when you start building your own.
