Generators for deep basements?
You can't destroy the floors in the March Ridge bunker to make a chimney and anywhere I place a generator inside the structure gases me out. Without mods is there anyway to get power down that deep?

That should likely be put in as a bug.
I'm not sure if it's true or not, but someone said generators have 6 levels of vertical reach now. If the bunker isn't that deep, you probably can power the place.

Good Call! They did increase the range of generators by one floor. So instead of two up and two down it can now do three and three. Having the generator on the ground level of the March Ridge base doesn't quiet reach down to the fourth floor basement.

All they need to do is add a generator hookup for commercial buildings, to power the whole thing; or at least a generator hookup for deep basements.

Be nice if every building was considered a circuit and the connected generator powers just that no matter the amount of floors, the connected devices within and on the walls of it would still consume what they do.
Well, I suppose you'd have to put your freezers up on the staircases.
It's been a long time since I tried to plug in a generator indoors, but can't you lock the device in a small closed room and go in to refuel with a mask on now that there are respirators and oxygen bottles, or do they poison all the rooms around it?

Further into B42 I do believe they'll be implementing a more robust electrical system with wiring and such, so it's something that's definitely on the developer radar.

like Deklend said it's on the radar you aren't meant to power things like a bunker with a portable generator, those things require big generators ones that are on slabs and can't be moved by the player. Those tile sets are in they just aren't functional.

If there is a roof over the generator it will gas out the entire structure. Locking it in a closet and shutting the door does nothing, the entire house will be unlivable.

Thanks for the clarification, as I said it's been a long time since I've connected one inside and I didn't remember if it was like that or not.

I build them inside my homes all the time I just make sure it has a chimney. If you make a little 1x1 room in your base with no roof and put a door on that room the outside temperature won't effect your base. Works well for big bases.

Can you build a small 1x1 room inside the bunker and place the generator inside?
Not sure but maybe that 1x1 room will be considered another building and won't off-gas to the rest of the bunker.
