I suggest you to learn how to forward port. Hamachi is a pile of cow ♥♥♥♥ & isn't really all that great.

In addition to what SlobFest said, the phrase you're looking for is, "My brother and I."

I have tried to port forward plenty of times and my main problem i run into is that i own a telus actiontech v1000h router and i havent found a good toturial.

Can you tell us what you've tried exactly and/or at what point you couldn't go any further?

When i open the fire wall i have two different places i can port forward. i can either choose to go to the port forwarding menu or go to applications.

the website has a screenshot of all the actiontech router pages. If you would like to look at them just look for the picture of either applications or portforwarding.

every tutorial i have seen looks just completely different.

this is in applications when i create my own rule. im almost positive that this is what i have to do im just not sure what the port map would be. also would i have to setup a dynamic or static ip i forget which i have.

You can use both.

As for Port Forwarding: only the first point (LAN port and IP)

Starting port 16261
Ending port 16270

Protocol: it should give you the option to do borth (TDP and UDP)
LAN IP Address: your own:
you find out your own LAN IP by pressing the windows button and R at the same time.
Type in "cmd" without the quotes and then enter.

When the command prompt pops up, enter "ipconfig" without the quotes".
The part where it says "IPv4" Address" is your local LAN IP that goes there.

Awesome man thanks alot! for port forwarding tho i dont get the choice of both udp and tcp unless i got to applications and create rule. should i do it that way then?
when i do it the applications way i still need to punch in a port map as shown in the imgur link. what is and how do i enter a port map in?

Still doesnt work? i can join my server but my brother who is on the same internet connection as me cannot. we have been on other servers together tho.

What IP is your brother trying to connect to?

He has to use the same IP that you entered in your router settings under "LAN IP Address"
