Report a translation problem
1) Get an empty sandbag (or dump out a full sandbag)
2) Get a spade/shovel (not a trowel).
3) Fill the sandbag with dirt (using the shovel).
Now you can dump dirt on your roof and farm up there.
I haven't done this yet (having trouble finding a shovel in West Point, may have to make a Muldraugh run next game to hit the warehouses & logging company) but I have dumped out a sandbag and saw it change the ground near my house.
You might be able to farm on less pleasant ground than "dirt"; but I'd worry that might not be as effective (by farming on sand/gravel).
