Didn't know you get XP by jumping fences and stuff, although I guess that makes sense. I try not to do that because I don't like falling over and losing my weapons and hat, also gashing my hand apart in the process lol.
I haven't tried grinding Nimble by walking around in combat stance yet, I dunno if you can do it in a safe zone or if you have to have zombies present like with sneaking and stuff though...but maybe it's actually quite easy to level up if you use combat stance a lot?
Same, whenever I start with a 0 in nimble I never reach level 2 before the playthrough is over. Walking around everywhere in combat stance would slow the game to a crawl & ruin any stealth attempts so I'm not too keen to try it :P
That said, I play alone, screw default settings, and I prefer being able to noticeably increase core skills. I do a 10x XP multiplier, though due to sandbox limitations this still leaves maxing core stats largely impossible, while leveling trade skills too fast. So without being able to tweak individual stat gains, it's far from perfect.
strength and fitness are designed to take months and years to raise, much like in rl. I always skip that noise and start with 10.
I prefer using 3x myself
2 months and 17 days. 2238 zombies killed. Started as police officer. (nimble level 1 bonus 75%)
Already past level 3, around 3/4 left till level 4.
Just as an fyi sneak running also increases xp if my observation is correct.
So the grinding looks more like having adventures and trying to find the skill books and having fun scavenging not walking around in combat stance for hours. Or you can just boost the XP multiplier in sandbox which imo is the most unrewarding and dry tasting solution.
It is a game about surviving and not dying...
The enemies dont evolve...and you can already kill them day 1, unarmed, with zero everywhere
Higher skill level can help surviving, sure...but if you are at the point of grinding skills, then you are way past surviving and have already won...
...or you play uber easy settings in which case it is even more pointless
Actually nimble skill has one very very barely known hidden effect.
If i recall well that for 100% drag down you need 4 zeds on level 0 nimbleness. Allthough 3 have a good chance to drag you down too.
However...with nimble skill this increases, you CAN survive and not be dragged down by 4 and even 5 zombies, if you have a high enough nimble skill.
(Well used to be this way, i had a very high like level 5-6 nimble guy ages ago, after 6-8 months of survival. And around that time there was a post about this, cant recall when, but my char definetly did not get dragged down by 5 zombies twice and managed to get out of them to live another day)
Anyway, ive never ever ever died and said to myself 'oh my god, if only ive had higher Nimble level' ;D
The same about most skills...and the ones the player want high...he can choose them at start anyway
Because it's bugged.
