This is why thin skin is free points , you have to learn to never take a hit because any contact with zombies can be fatal. Its also why First aid is a useless skill.

Ya i just mean this issue you raise is why taking thin skin is free points , even without it a bite can easily be fatal , you have to learn to never get touched at all so you might as well take thin skin.

So what youre saying is that theyve intentionally made t more common for bites?

No. He's saying that wearing armor is a noob trap, you need to learn to not get bit in the first place. Because one bite is all it takes to die.

I dont think it is more common its still a 1/4 you just got unlucky but a 1/4 is common enough taht you should play in a way that you never get hit because once you survive a couple days and are hours into a run it isnt ever worth taking a 1/4th chance to die versus your save game.

Getting attacked from behind has a significantly higher chance of being a bite. With that said, vanilla protection values are relatively low. Most clothes only have 10-20% bite/scratch resistance for their respective limbs, and body armor only covers your torso. What this means is your hands, arms, feet, legs, groin, neck, and head are particularly dangerous areas to receive an attack.

As Artaniz commented, this should teach you not to get caught at all. Every attack that lands on you could be fatal. Trying to mitigate these attacks with resistance only offers a chance of survival -- it cannot be relied upon.

Zombies actually will never bite your legs unless they're crawlers. Which means you don't need to wear armor there. The head is also a rare-ish place to get bit, as they usually bite your neck, which helmets don't protect. (Except for the biochemical mask I think.)
Or you could turn off infection but no one would do that
By default, you have a big chance to get bitten if you are attacked from behind. Just make sure you don't get caught from behind.

Why you letting them attack you in the first place?

You walk faster than they charge. You shove faster than they can attack. You can see them before they see you.

Start using your advantages.

This mod is for you. It will give you the second chance for dodging the attack. PZ is a sandbox game, afterall.

Wellll... i do. Play with more zombies as the one human, that´s immune to the virus - but not immune to being torn to shreds by the hordes.

Not in 42 anymore. You can have 100% bite defense on arms legs body neck and head, and 80% on hands.
Though I find it kinda silly one human bite can pierce CHAINMAIL gloves (butchers and kitchen workers use these to avoid knife wounds). Come on, is it some shark variant mutants? Not mention these hard to find. Bone gloves are easy though and 70/80 def.
