Project Zomboid

Dear The Indie Stone
First and foremost, I know I like to mess around sometimes in the discussion, saying silly things and being goofy from time to time, however this is sincere and from the heart.

Thank you for creating this game, it has gotten me through a lot of hard points in life and times that quite frankly I had no escape. Especially when I was in deployment and I just got through a rough watch or had outside forces clouding my thoughts and events that negatively effected me mentally, sitting there in the messdeck late at night after being relieved from watch, playing this game on my old laptop helped me through some stressful moments and helped me process things while I played this game.

This game was a great relief and is very enjoyable with its exploration predominantly and the thrill of surviving even when faced with adversity. As you can guess with my game hours put into this game, that means that these past few years not everything has been peachy, a lot of escapism and processing.

Thank you again for being the game that’s been a consistent bright spot in my life during these times, I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for all of us.

Just out of curiosity - how many guys are there currently working on this game? I know it sure is a lot of work, i am just curious why it´s so long in early access

Someone said 28 right now. I think the core team is still 4 people? The rest are outside hire, a lot of them are modders.

There's maybe 7-10 modders (offhand) on focused elements of the game. A lot of the rest are experienced outside hires within Formosa, TEA, General Arcade etc...
Tea does some good work. More Tea!

Why do people insist on games coming out of early access? How does it hurt your gameplay experience? The developers haven’t asked for more money beyond the initial price, and they’re actively releasing updates and fixing the game.

Exactly this! I'd rather wait decades for a game to be the best it can be, than be given a half-a#&ed product.
Indie Stone has from everything I can find been one of if not the most open, and honest indie companies there is.
They show that they care about the core community, and encourage everybody to enjoy it how they choose to.
