March Ridge Bunker *Rant*
I love how the developers finally put a bunker in the vanilla game and it is literally the most poorly designed and thought out areas that is entirely useless until late stage end game.

1. Found it. Great (only took 5 mins)...oh wait. ITS LOCKED. seriously? where is the key?

(Key is in some random ass shelf, that literally nobody is going to find in a million years.)
(At least give us a hint to where the ♥♥♥♥ it is dude. Jesus Christ that is literal ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.)

2. Cant find it? (Key) tough ♥♥♥♥ i guess, break the doors down and get inside if your lucky.

(Oh guess what?) You now need to break down every single secure door, defeating the purpose of a secure government bunker. Like come on guys, this is so incredibly dumb.)

3. Cool, you broke all the doors, ruined the secure aspect of the location and your inside.

(GEE WILKERSON, there is NOTHING HERE..............literally. No food, water, ammo, supplies.)
(You come here all this way, destroy the doors, and there is nothing here for you...)

4. Now you have to go back out and get supplies/REBUILD barricades and hopefully find a
generator to run outside and or some seeds and build a well for sustainability.

Literally go anywhere else but March Ridge. The bunker was only placed there as a incentive to get players to go to march ridge because it is so out of the way of the rest of the map and there is literally nothing there of interest. Holy crap so much wasted potential here.

AVOID THE BUNKER. HUGE WASTE OF TIME.

I really really wanted to avoid mods for b42. i did alot of modding in 41, but looks like lockpicking skill is getting added to my mod list. Guess we can rp as a burglar...lol
Out of curiosity why no mods?

Spoiling myself. After about 70+ hours of grinding and messing about, i wanted to experiment and just screw around with cheats, do RP builds and multiplayer farming for fun. I told myself that whenever a new build drops i'l play it and exhaust its content, and when i feel i have learned and made progress i'l install a cutesy fun mod once in awhile. but the main goal is to play vanilla. that way i don't become dependent on mods or tool cheats.
quite reasonable and logical. I only mod because I figure "Hey, its my save, Ill play it how i wanna" That said i only mod QoL stuff mostly. Missing recipes and roadblocks to progress stuff.
About the bunker, honestly I'd be scared to go down it without clearing the entirety of march ridge first and we know what a monumental task that would be.
Basements and general creep me out, I always expect to get trapped down there. Four flights of stairs? absolutely not lol
March Ridge does have a Hit Vidz though so I will go at least once every play

Eh, had the same experience, and felt it was realistic. You think all those preppers are swimming in cash before the outbreak? It's just weird conspiracy kooks, they don't have much in the way of resources. And this one obviously made a bunker and was so dissapointed he abandoned it.
Also, we assume this is a part of the storyline we have seen tidbits here and there...

Also, you go to March Ridge for the military surplus shop and auto shop loot.
To be honest a bunker stripped out of supplies is probably reasonable. The soviet union wad disintegrating in the early 1990s and no other nation was a credible nuclear threat. In my country ex-cold war bunkers were available for people to buy for about $50,000 at this time. My guess it's meant to be some surplus 1950s trash rather than something more modern and well stocked.

When i cleared it, it was empty. like no zombies. but somthing that bugs the piss out of me. How come there are zombies in there if the doors were locked. youd think the survivors would still be in there, but unless your playing (week one) the mod, there are no npcs.

I think its pretty obvious due to the school being next to it. it wasnt made by some prepper nut, its most likely made for the children in the advent of a nuclear event. Thus, its proximity to the military apartment complex and the High school itself.

Hmm. you do have a point there. Well said mate. Another thing i thought of that would be funny, or realistic, imagine the mayor of march ridge touting some super bunker off as the next noahs ark to save everybody, yet when people arrive for shelter they come to find its literally a 6 flights of stairs into a cavern that was never built and written off as a tax evasion.

XD

B42, Go to Military Lab bunker !

March Ridge Bunker is to allow survivor to make an underground base. I feel it like this...

But as we still need mods to make generator able to supply basement... you have right, this is a waste of time.

And about March Ridge, it's a place to try if you have not been lucky with RNG and manual or receip. Lot of houses, lot of containers and shelves to challenge your RNG. Population of z is acceptable regarding all the space to fight them.

Actually thinking of giving the Military Bunker another go. Im curious to see what they added in the underground labs. Thank you for your encouragement! :)
Have you gone to the one in Brennenburg, or whatever the name is?
