Furniture barricades...

Played for a good while, found this big compound looking area, got super exited to clear it and make a base, but when I tried to block one end of the building off with furniture.. you could just walk through it all.. like reallly.. what a joke, it's not like that's the only entrance either...

I got frustrated and enabled debug mode to see if maybe it was the furniture choice I used so I spawned a bunch of metal cabinets and counters, (as seen in screenshot) yeah no, you can just walk through it ALL.

Why.. un-ironically that just ruined my whole playthrough. (yes i'm being a baby)

So I guess what i'm looking for is either some setting that can be changed, or a mod that makes furniture "un-phasable".
Seriously if the problem is zombie pathing.. why can't they just BREAK the barricade that's kinda the reason I built the darn things.
