can't craft with steel chunks/blocks/pieces (B42)
exactly what the title says. you can craft iron bars out of iron chunks, chunks out of blocks, use iron chunks to craft everything else, etc, but unless i'm doing something wrong, steel chunks/ingots/blocks/pieces are completely useless at this moment. oversight, bug, or intended feature?

EDIT: i'm talking specifically about blacksmithing.

If I recall, iron/steel blocks can be crafted into a weapon. I think an alternative to sledgehammer or something?

steel bars are used for long and short swords (need a magzine). Short is Mw5, long is 9.

I am still figuring out how to make axe head. Pretty much the only reason I bothered with smithing at all. Edit: You can make the wood axe head, but not old axe head.

I see this is an old post. I found a ton of steel ingots/bars. I thought you used to be able to substitute some steel for iron. Is there any direction this is going? Since iron is the common denominator, I would think you could sub steel for iron but have to add a process to sub iron for steel?

OK, so I found a way to convert steel rods to iron chunks in the furnace, but nothing for steel ingots, blocks or chunks (You can divide steel ingots into blocks and chunks). Weird you can't forge steel chunks into steel quarters, halves and bars, like you can with iron. That would provide a closed loop.
