Thats all they do.
Edit: Sleeping on a bed of "average" or "poor" quality (or the floor) will reduce the rate at which tiredness disappears, and the player will wake up without being fully rested while also being potentially sore in the neck.
When I used the pillow on a good quality bed, it seemed to take longer than usual for the "fatigue" icon to disappear.
I also felt like I was sleeping longer.
I haven't used a pillow since.
It might be more effective if the quality of your bed is below average.
In the context menu you get the info "with pillow" if you're clicking the correct tile.
Apparently you can also have the pillow in your main inventory for the same effect.
I guess kindling is important to have so we could also add a happiness boost to having twigs and toilet paper.
