Animated Vehicles
Do you think they will ever add animated doors/hood/trunk etc to vehicles. I know it’s a small detail that’s rather insignificant to the big picture of things, but I still find it to be a nice little immersion feature. :)

I'm pretty sure it's on the to do list. They added in awhile back that it matters if the door is open or not, so if you leave the door open you can get eaten, so reflecting that visually has to be planned or it wouldn't make any sense.

I don't get why the devs don't just add popular mods to the official game.

i can't play without the animated vanilla cars mod, or Ki5s cars mods. like the other commentor, it is a bit of a puzzle why they don't add popular mods to the game. if the work is already done... and if the modder is keen to turn over the code for free, why not?
Like don’t get me wrong, I can understand why they don’t add real life vehicles to the game, completely understandable, but would be nice to see an expansion of more vanilla vehicle varieties as well as animations to accompany these vehicles. :)

Because you won't do integrating, testing, and supporting of these, and the studio probably already has workhours planned. They could easily adopt only something perfectly aligned with the roadmap.

They already have. Its the reason why modderss are able to do it because its implemented in the game right now but for some reason TIS never fully implemented it.

The sad thing is that people will always be complaining for both reasons from what I read :
-Say that the game is barebone and that the modders/mods are the only things keeping the game alive (even though the devs are creating the tools to make modding easier)
-Also say the devs are wasting time implementing many new items since mods can already do it.

It's insane to me. Even a friend of mine is joking about the small and "pointless" addition from the devs, yet spend hours scrolling through the mods to find other things that are even more pointless (like boats... That aren't even driveable, they are just there. Or trucks...)

Ki5s mods had no problems in b41 whatsoever. I used it for years. That's when you start using more than one auto mod, you have to make sure they work together.

Considering the mess which is b42, stability is not TIS's concern. IMO, TIS doesn't want to create a precedent of paying for mods.

Like there is a smithing mod for b41, which is better than smithing in b42 right now. There is a long survival mod for b41, which is better than new additions to crafting in b42.

If TIS wants to keep reinventing the wheel, whatever, it's their game.

there are some Ki5 cars which are already working in b42. Since 14th of January I think. Check his page. I already Found a nice ford pickup with bullbar.
It would be fascinating to see an expansion of vanilla vehicles like a military humvee or a limousine and maybe even the implementation of watercraft like small fishing boats and luxury yachts.

You mean vanilla? Because fully animated humvee with a miltrailer is in the mod. And M35A1. And Bushmaster APC. And Oshkosh M1070

They did tho? There are a lot of things that came from mods in b42. Though idk why no cars ngl.

There's a mod for this that works very nicely. Along with another mod I use that allows you to put armoured bars and protection on the vanilla vehicles also.

Here ya go
