Sharp flint flakes and stone axes
We used to be able to take two stones, bash them together and get a sharp stone that we can make into a crude axe. Now we have to find some flint nodule thing? Is there something I'm missing? The crafting window doesn't show an alternative.

I think it was always like this in B42 you could also just find a sharp flint and do the axe without additional crafting.
If you mean compared to b41, yes. That's how you craft stone axes in b42. You need to gather flint nodules and smash them to bits.

I assume we can find them via foraging like with stones?

Yes. But you'll have easier time looking for mineral deposits.

Patches of stone you see on the ground can be harvested now. You need club hammer in your inventory then you can right click on them.

Oh, those rocks we can actually see in the world? Do we need a club hammer specifically, or or are there a few we can use?
A pickaxe works too. Apparently a simple Claw Hammer works...
Unfortunately the pickaxe does not allow to remove the huge boulders

Keep in mind the durability of that crude axe is so low now you'll be lucky to chop one tree down with it before it breaks.

I'm glad i finished my base before that.

Yeah, I found a flint nodule in a house, and made one. I got two trees, it broke before I could cut down a third. I think raiding a fire station would probably be better.
