Resting does not recover endurance/fatigue
I assume this is due to the new update vs mods that I am using, but has anyone else encountered a bug where resting on a chair or bed does not recover any endurance? I have noticed that in the beginning of a fresh game it works fine, but after a couple of in-game days it gets broken... the only way to reduce the endurance/fatigue is to sleep, which will recover both the drowsiness and fatigue, however resting does not (the endurance).
I am playing SP.

Nopers i have not encountered had that there that problem..i amplaying singleplayer with some mods , have a fractured leg so get exerted frequently since i have no cars and having to sprint hobble wiggle everywhere. Its been working fine using rest feature.
you wont get stamina back when resting on a chair when you are already completely tired.
only with sleep.
Sleepiness reduces stamina regeneration, maybe this is your problem, not a bug.
But after a good night of sleep (preferably after drinking camomile and slow meditation music for sleeping) you should put your character to sleep and see if stamina is not regenerating when you are fully rested.
Update on this matter: I tried without mods and encounter the same problem. It seems as you pointed out, it being related to being tired (drowsy).
However this is something completely new in this update, since I have been playing PZ (2190 hours) and have never had a problem with recovering endurance even when drowsy, resting on a chair or bed would always do the trick in previous builds...
it was always like this. if you are fully tired you wont get stamina back.
i would recommend the minimal display bars mod, there you can see it.
fully tired you wont get stamina back.
if you have only first or second tired moodlet you still get stamina back, but not fully tired.

That is not true. I have done many playthroughs where I didn´t sleep for over 1-2 months in-game and yet I could rest on a chair or bed and thus recovering the endurance completely. I have played for several years and this mechanic is completely new, as I noticed it in connection to the newest update.
that has to be a very ancient build then.
i cant imagine playing completely tired and fighting zeds for 2ingame months without sleep, thats kinda impossible in the latest builds.
so maybe yes it is a new feature for you then.

I assure you that it has been like this for a long time, I have played frequently since last year, and noticed the change in this newest update. I know it might sound absurd, but I always like to min-max my playthrough where I don´t sleep and try to get as much as possible done without losing time to sleep, even if it might be considered cheesing the system.
I can verify that it is very possible playing with max tiredness (with some penalties to damage et.c.), just requires a bit more hits on the zombies.
depends on your settings.
you wont be able to do anything fully tired in my game.
how do you fight constant hordes of 50+ zeds roaming around + resapwn.
its not possible as melee fully tired, cause of the OBVIOUS you wont reggen stamina after you killed like 4 zeds.

but you already made up your mind, so be it.
it's a new feature in 41.73
Hm maybe, I will look around in the settings and see if it´s something one could change.
I do play on apocalypse settings, so I focus more on sneaking around and fight zombies one-on-one if I have to, gotta play smart.
Well it worked for me before for some unknown reason, since I never had issues with that before (I would otherwise have asked this question months ago, and not now).
Don´t take me wrong, even if I don´t agree with you, I do appreciate the feedback and discussion. If the mechanics was supposed to be like this always, then I will just have to adapt. At least I know now that the mods are not at fault here, which was my biggest concern.
thats fair, maybe it was my bad when i said it was always like this.
cause i cant say that for sure, just in the latest few builds it was like that.
Fatigue also known as being tired does not recover from 'resting', instead you need to actually sleep. As fatigue is basically being tired.
If you get too tired, you'll outright stop regenrating endurance at ridiculously tired. Even getting Drowsy greatly reduces it, though truthfully even getting tier 1 drowsy will heavily burden your endurance, especially with low fitness levels.
Carrying heavy things can also reduce your endurance gain (The heavy load moodle)

I can't say for certain with older builds, but as far as I'm aware this has been an intended feature in build 41. Perhaps it just may of not worked as intended back then?
Thanks for all the responses, I guess I will conclude that it didn´t work as intended for me until this point for some reason.
Stamina recovers slower when tired. I recommend installing the clear moodlets explanation mod.

Also, when resting (not sleeping) sit down on the floor at the same time, it will recover stamina much faster.
