[SOLVED] Tile Picker Question

[SOLUTION] need to activate the Brush Tool from the debug menu cheats menu

hi - i accidentally removed a wall in debug, and am trying to replace it

i found the tile i want from the Tile Picker UI

but i can't work out how to actually place it (or do anything other than see the tiles since clicking doesn't seem to do anything)

any help much appreciated - thanks :-)

ok - i found the Better Tiles Picker mod that allowed me to do it:

but could someone let me know if you can actually place tiles with the regular Tile Picker please? and if so, how?

(i tried looking in the code but it's pretty complex - possibly the code for the mod will point me in the right direction - i found something called the Brush Tool, but can't work out how to activate it - think i need a tutorial lol)

anyway - any info appreciated - thanks :-)

ok - i'm an idiot - found out how to do it - just need to activate the Brush Tool from the Cheats menu in the debug menu

so it's been a loooooong time since i played (i keep meaning to get back to it - some really interesting looking mods have come out in the past year or so)

but i just fired it up

and you have to right click and select Brush Tool Manager

you can then use the Choose Tile option to choose a tile to place

you can close the tile selector so you can see better and the tile will stay selected - but if you click the RMB it will get deselected and you will have to pick the tile again

click LMB to place the tile - and you can use '[' and ']' to cycle through the tiles

you can also right click anywhere and select copy to copy the selected tile, which will put it on the cursor to be pasted

you can also delete tiles this way

definitely much easier to select tiles by clicking and copying than through the tile picker

also the mod i linked is much easier to use from what i recall (it has also been updated multiple times since i last used it)

I know it's a old thread, but I just wanted to let you know this thread helped me out a lot. I removed a roof part by accident and this fixed it right up. Thanks a lot

awesome - i am very glad - been away from PZ for a bit - but will of course be back when Build 42 drops - and maybe sooner depending on how things go with all the other games that i obsessively play :-)

i am glad this helped you fix your roof (last time i played i accidentally burned down the mall, needed more than the tile picker for that lol)

Kinda annoying that your need Brush tool enabled to make the tile picker work, it can be confusing for people to figure out how to use it. But my base is now restored thanks to this thread :D

I hope your base wasn't located at the mall XD

yes it was - i was lucky enough to spawn in there so no zombies inside - and a camping shop full of guns lol - all gone when i came back after a scouting expedition - well all gone in stages - i salvaged a bit of gear into a car and then had to head on the road in the zombie infested rest of the city lol - the last best refuge burned to the ground :-)

(was a zombie or two i tested a molotov on - i think i missed one and it wandered into the mall while i was gone - oops lol)

i think the mod i listed has a better interface - more as you would expect - so may be worth trying
