how can you sneak?

how can you sneak?
Ctrl or Z does not work with me ..

Just hold right click. There ain't no animations for sneaking.

Does anyone know if this is still the case? Z and CTRL also don't seem to work for me, and the keys don't seem to be mappable for sneaking.

Holding ctrl works for me, it is the same as if you are readying for an attack. So sneaking and raising your weapon to attack is the same button and same animation. Holding right click on mouse works to.

You may also have taken the negative traits damaging sneaking, so it can seem like it doesn't work.

@-MR.Gold-, @Chad1776 and @Tea thank you all for confirming. After I started holding down right mouse all the time, things became so much easier...I got up to 25 kills before I died.

I suggest people trying out the in-game tutorial. It's helpful for new players. It explains stuff, such as how to sneak.

That is half right : OP and #1 are from 2015

The rest is from 2019 (june and november)

Edit : As for the useful part, in build 41 there is a new function that is activated by the default "C" key (for Crouching) that seems to replace the previous sneaking system.

'C' and holding rmb seems to work great for me.
