Item distribution and game balance...
I think there is a lot to review in your game balance, and item distribution...

It is extremely frustrating to "scavenge"...

For example...
IRL most of houses usualy have hammers, NAILS!!!...or tools in general...
In your game, you can go look a whole area and not find any... Even at starting game

- Most of house have some medicinal items like "desinfectant in the pharmacy in WC
in your game, you can check every single house and not find any, even at starting game

Changing game options will not really fix this...

Find an axe... ok...how long should it take to find one... multiple hours... if your not lucky...
Why there is not any axes in a villa, with a garden, having a garage, where usualy you find an axe?

Why you can not find in any house you scout something to desinfect?
A bottle of whisky? Ok...then tell me why people drank all the whisky before they supposedly died to populate as zombies the roads nearby?

Currently... Getting scratched while passing a broken window, should not result in an infection that will kill you... (not to say that every time I go thro, I get scratched...

Ok, well most that comment seems random, but it's just completely random. In my last 3 play throughs there is always one item I seem to have a hard time finding.

1st play
- Lots of saws, axes, hammers and screwdrivers
2ns play
- lots of saws, hammers and screwdrivers
- found 1 axe
current play
- lots of hammers and like 8 generators
- 1 saw
- no axes or screwdrivers

had to move my base near a foraging area so I could find chipped stones to make a stone axe.

Random = unrealistic

I think there should be more axes, easier to find, but less duration for this axe. and ability to fix it once or twice...
When it is broken IRL it is broken...

I think making items easiers to find, IN LOGICAL, places, but lowering their duration for intensive use whould add to realism while making scavenging LESS frustrating all together as more realistic

like you can almost do nothing without nails... but you can play multiple hours to get enough of them to craft a door/wall/box or anything else...

Nails... omg...

Supply store should have MILLIONS of them...
when you scavange a supply store, you hardly get more than 20 or so...

Or you could just remove the glass or use/knock down the door or try to open a window - Lucky and or thick skinned may also help lower your odds of getting into that situation, same in regards to zombie scratches :P


It's meant to be hard anyways, if you're really struggling try hit pharmacys and the warehouse in south maldraugh, should have everything you need. :) :deadrat: :spiffo:

thats not what I exactly said...

The game is hard and is meant to be - no problem with that.
But everyone is ok to say - it should be realistic ....

so, I think it should be realistic, to get to a supply store and find millions of nails that I can take and cary as many as I can...

the same way, get into a house garage and find an axe or hammer
or a find a dil.do in a parents room...
