4k UI scaling workaround
just a simple workaround for the busted in-game scaling.

i only just realized how many people have this issue so heres a solution i use:

adjust ur pc display settings NOT the in-game video settings

makes everything thats not project zomboid look like $I-IiT but the moodles and everything in the game is spot on

sucks having to manually adjust and close and reopen until u get it scaled right AND it sucks having to change it back, but it works

*edit: i should note that setting resolution to 1280x720 gave zomboid a viable UI for me*

You could disable dpi scaling in the game exe's properties too, and skip messing with your global resolution.

If you're playing with a 4k monitor you won't be able to change your resolution to 1920x1080, when you try and click accept/apply it will just automatically put it back to the 4k

To workaround this, right click the project zomboid executable in the steam folder which you could launch the game with. click properties. Click the Compatibility tab. Click Change High DPI Settings. Check the box that says Override high DPI scaling behavior.

I was having a headache trying to get it to work as a new player the tiny icons and everything is not fun and it was frustrating but this allows you to select 1080 or any resolution without it automatically putting it back to 4k.

Just wanted to give a tip.
I bought a 4k monitor and run into the UI size being wrong and it did not help to change the resolution.
BUT, after i changed the FONT to x2 then after a few seconds everything was bigger on the screen and now i can play the game on my 4k monitor with 4k resolution.
