Use the "walk to" feature and you will auto walk around trees.
You can do this by clicking with the right mouse button on the desired tile you want to walk to. and then the option ''walk to'' will appear. You click on that option with the left mouse button to do the action.
Hope this clarifies a bit.
Always use the "walk to" option when in forests.
Any neck injury must be bandaged immediately, even changing a neck dressing is risky, you need a clean bandage ready to go immediately in some cases. You really can dump out your 8 pints of life-juice in seconds in this game!
"difficult terrain" injuries should be restricted to hands, arms, feet, and legs.
You also die faster based on the time settings in the sandbox, I.E if you have it set to 15 minute days you'll die 4x as fast than when set to 1 hour long days, and if you set the day length to like 24 hours real time you pretty much barely take damage from injuries, it's that slow. Unless that has been changed since the last time I checked anyway.
Yeah though, I've experienced your pain before, playing on a Thin Skinned + Slow Healer character in the Riverside Gated Community, I attempted to move through one of the hedgerows there at running speed and it gashed my neck and I died too without realising I was messed up, lol. I guess it's just a really, really unlucky scratch.
Watch out for trees and hedges anyway, especially if you're Thin Skinned - less of an issue if you're using traits like Outdoorsman or Lumberjack etc, but still, never hurts to be cautious. Don't go running through forests and hedges!
with that said, i think its dumb to be in game where you cant see each branch and dodge with your head while trashing your arms to move branches
That'll show 'em! Lumberjack? Pah!
Ninja squirrel takes a slash at your neck with his tiny acorn katana, I dunno. Sounds feasible to me, anyway.
Lmao this + your Ent comments are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hilarious... I can just see it in all its glory. Man, that was a great little scene to play out in my head lol.
@Terrorsaur, why would dangerous terrain injuries be limited to limbs??? You've surely heard of people slipping and hitting their head on a rock, or other similar events. Especially if it's raining (who knows whether it was in OP's scenario but that hardly matters). Other than "I don't like dying to my in-game character being clumsy" I can't see any cohesive logic behind your suggestion.
Someone adds a mod that just makes the trees uproot and run around like zombies attacking people .
10/10 I'd play that.
