Skeleton Symbol

A skeleton symbol has appeared on the left side of the screen, bellow the stats, crafting options.

I also have a skeleton icon on the right side of my name, on top of my players head.

I've had it for the past... 3-4 hours, my health is good, I'm not bitten, I have some scratches on my torso caused by a tree which I have bandages over, clean bandages, I make sure to replace them when dirty.

The skeleton icon appeared after I killed my first zombie, which luckily didn't manage to hit me, I somehow managed to knock it over with a single push and smashed it's head whilst it was on the ground.

I don't have any messages anywhere saying I was bitten, dying or in the process of becoming a zombie.

I even had a friend to medically check me, to him as well it says I'm in good condition.

It has me confused, but luckily I'm able to ignore it, it would be good to know what it is and what it means though.

A multiplayer issue, I heard it was not game-breaking so you can just ignore it.
