Trap crates are gone?

When I went to check it, there was just scrap wood and nails so I went to build another, but it is not available in the menu anymore.

I have been wanting to see what winter is like so I have been playing it very safe. Found a remote spot with few zombies and settled in farming trapping and foraging. So far things have gone well. Rabbit stew, squirrel soup, roast small bird, my character has been eating well. Mostly it has been the trap crates that fed him though and now they don't exist anymore? Very sad.

For the record, the houses in the area marked cabin by the lake on the map are fantastic. One of them is well fenced on three sides just needs a barrier set up to close one side and you never need to worry about surprise visitors. I could die of old age there but I will probably head into town and meet a gruesome end in search of adventure instead once I've had my fill of winter weather.

Bummed about the missing trap option though.

I dont see anything about traps being removed only see this when i use the search function on the stable release update notes:

Fixed incorrectly named recipe for making Wooden Box Traps.

Hmmm so either I am the only person this happened to or nobody else is doing much trapping.

The trap crates are not even in the crafting menu anymore

Mod related mazbe? I never heard of this from vanilla. I switched off every mod and I can make these traps in vanilla with ease, while using a ton of mods on the other hand as well.

I have yet to try any mods. My game is 100% vanilla

Have you read the relevant magazine to be able to craft them?

I had the same problem. I was able to build trap crates before the latest patch and they vanished from the crafting menu after the update.(No mods) I've found the relevant magazine while looting and it said "unread", even though I had read it before. Crafting option was unlocked after reading it again
