There are a lot of smaller lamps in people's homes you can pick up and put inside your base. If you don't convert them to being portable, they should run off the generator.

Aside from the above, antique stove and campfire can also light up the room. Of all heat sources, those two provide the most illumination too.

Just be careful with the campfire. You need to know how to set it up safely indoors.

I like the outdoor wall lights the ones that are usually next to an outside door( yes they can actually be picked up i didnt know this originally). They provide nice lighting and can be mounted to walls inside and work with generators. The only downside is they can't be crafted and you have to take them from outside buildings.

Some houses also have indoor wall lamps that can be picked up and placed.

The best way to light a room is leaving a car on outside with the head lights on.
It uses very little fuel and the car battery can be charged with a charger if you want to save fuel.
Car light ignore walls. They light up huge areas.

The crafted lights, flashlight post and battery lamp...suck lol they just suck, batteries dont last very long in them and the light is short range.

You can use wall lights or flood lights with a generator.

If you want a better way to do lighting, use the ISA solar panel mod. This mod lets you find/craft solar panels and batteries to easily power lights. By default the solar panels are not strong enough to power freezers so for those use a generator. (the mod has settings you can alter if you want to solar power freezers.) :waytohell:

This is why I gave up on trying to light buildings that don't have a built in light source ready. Replacing batteries and bulbs are annoying especially if you have a lot of player made light sources. Yeah you could just make bulbs and batteries last forever but that kind of breaks the immersion for me.

Just finding out recently you can pick up most objects even if it doesn't make sense. Some require tools. I moved a dumpster in front of my safe house lol but yes some lamps can be picked up too.
