This is completely subjective.
Personally, I find that vanilla firearms are more than enough. But I usually either use B41 firearms or vanilla firearms expansion.

High quality + most content? I'd say Arsenal + Brita's. You've got everything from .22 calibers to modern high-powered military rifles, you can enable all kinds of stuff all the way up to .50 BMG miniguns if you want to go full terminator.

Vanilla Firearms Expansion is also a great choice. It has plenty of new stuff and the devs are active.

B41 Firearms is an all-timer for me. It's the one I started using and it's still good, just not in Multiplayer. There is a revamped version of it too but I haven't tried it out yet.

If you want something that's developed with the aim of being kind of a mixture of the three above, maybe try mine. :)

And yeah, gun mods aren't usually compatible with each other. There's lots of lua stuff that's going on with making a gun mod.

IMO B41 Firearms
Other mods just tend to feel like they are trying to satisfy some power fantasy while B41 Firearms adds more guns while still keeping everything relatively zomboid-feeling.
