Maintenance?

Simple question. What does the maintenance skill do? Wiki is clearly outdated, and most posts on forums I can find are at least 2 years old and doesn't provide any concrete answers.

Any help in this regard will be greatly appriciated.

It reduces the rate at which weapons and tools take damage from use.

VERY useful skill for long term survival or heavy combat.

You should also consider glue and duct tape as part of your base essential items. You'll regret not having that stuff when your axe or anything else breaks

Also if i recall well it also increases the repair you can do on your weapon per repair item.
(At least i noticed that with nails and the nailed baseball bat!)
