Best method of acquiring a Backpack? (the best bag)

I know that "fallen survivor" zombies can randomly spawn with a Backpack and entourage of friends on roads between towns, but are there more reliable or more likely ways of finding one other than travelling long distances and hoping to get lucky with that?

EDIT: I know that the secret military installation west of Rosewood is certain to spawn military zombies with Backpacks, but I'm all the way in West Point and would rather not circumvent all of Knox County for that one item, if there's a more reasonable alternative available.

As far as military backpacks go I don't think there's any other way to get one, other than finding a soldier randomly spawning somewhere which is super rare. You can try the school, there's a decent chance to find zombies with school bags.

I've had no problems finding Dufflebags and even a few Hiking Bags. I don't need Schoolbags, I need a Backpack.

Clothes stores like in rosewood or riverside. are a pretty decent place to find em. also survivor houses have a chance to spawn a zombie with one.

A good place to look is in clumps of zeds on the highway. They form nice little clusters of random chance, and you can spot the backpack right away. Especially once you have a car, the groups are spaced out enough that you can stop and kill off 6 or so and be off with the goods before other groups head your way.

There's also some chance to find them on mannequins in clothing shops.

If you want to avoid zeds you can try some of the yellowish lockers that you can find in schools. A bigger chance is these lockers at company locations such as loggers or police stations. Good luck

I got a military backpack on a zombie in a boarded up house a couple of days ago

Most of time i found the best backpack(not sure what the name is since i have some stuff translated and others not, and it is usually confusing, since in my language the duffel bag is translated as the military bag) in boarded up houses. If it is a two story house i allways had a zombie there who was wearing one. (Allthough it also meant about 12 zeds at least)
