Romero Spawn Locations?
Just curious what that note means exactly for the upcoming build :) Thanks!

Has to be a "Monroeville Mall" spawn like Dawn of the Dead.

If I am right, you absolutely MUST play this when raiding the gun store...

I think it means they spawn in city centers not on roads or in forests. Spawns are supposed to make sense. You wouldn't have hordes all over roads at the start. Not to mention it has always made travel in the game way too tedious at times. Having to drive around zombies constantly, then you get in town and there are barely more than the roads you just drove through.

The lighthouse and its shoreline will be allways considered a high zombie pop hot zone.

also the festival grounds
its more like a safe zone than it is a horde threat but who knows.

I assume the devs meant that there will be more locations based on the films, like the original farmhouse from Night of the living Dead, or the Mall from Dawn of the Dead.

Somebody actually made a INSANELY detailed Map of the Bunker in Day Of The Dead you can get on the steam workshop. I highly recommend this as a starter base if your a fan.

Check out the trailer i made for it on Youtube!

They explained that

"Now, a criticism of the current zombie spawn is that it isn’t realistic. We veer away from the feeling of a classic zombie movie slightly because zombies aren’t always in realistic places. Zombies are all over the roads, in random fields and basically… a long way from where they probably died.

With 42’s current (experimental) zombie heat map we are trying to address this a little. The map is more intricate, and we hope feels more real.

Now if you see zombies, it means there are houses, businesses and lootable locations nearby. Zombies also appear in groups more than before, and spawn less on the road – unless there are parked cars or traffic jams."

This will require playtesting and closed test feedback. Some areas will feel emptier, but places that you would expect to have lots of zombies (and which you’ll want to loot) will have them in abundance.

This will be far more in keeping with a Romero movie , however, so we felt it an experiment worth taking on for the 42 heat map – but will also clearly have to keep an eye of difficulty levels at the same time.
