Zombies starving to death mechanics
The game should have a system where zombies around you will starve to death after 48-72 hours. These guys don't drink, stand 24/7, and there's got to have a reasonable explanation. I have to eat and sleep, while these things can just walk and roam around 24/7?
Don't tell me photosynthesis, mammals don't use that crap because it converts very little energy from the sun.

So after 96 hours zombies drop dead and you win?

'This is how you survived'

Would be a funny easter egg.

Yes, this is one of the main plot holes with zombie fiction.

Just because you're inflicted with a madness/rage inducing virus does not mean your human body suddenly becomes immune to the laws of thermodynamics or basic human biology.

Within 3 days, pretty much all zombies infected to that prior point would start dying due to lack of hydration. Their muscles would seize up and convulse due to no water to moderate salt levels or to generally stay alive.

And as you go down the chain, no food intake, open wounds getting infected, being exposed to the elements, standing out in blizzards for months, etc.

You realize how insane it is. Just because your brain is infected by a virus and very much wants to kill everything around it at a slow pace doesn't mean you're not going to die from everything else.

So chalk it up to "funny bideo game with zombies" and suspend your sense of reality for it if you want to have fun, lol.

I don't think everything needs to be scientifically plausible to be fun.

Zombies aren't real, so by default there can be no 'scientific' explanation as to why they don't eat or drink. It's not supposed to be realistic.

Your definitly applying to much thought into a construct thats inherently fairytale at its core.

That being said, I have always wanted to see a zombie movie/game that actually depicts these things, it would be a facinating scene to see zombies eating animals/other zombies, or hundreds gathering around fountains to sit face down drinking the water.

In 28 days later the 'zombies' died from hunger. But i guess that doesn't count as zombies as it was more of a evolved rabies virus.

Something that is dead cannot starve to death on account of it being dead already. You can set the zombies to get weaker over time in the sandbox settings.

Zombies are supposed to be dead already. So you need to find an excuse for why they're still moving, rather than why they don't starve. :)

The zombies are infected by a virus, the human is dead but the virus controlling it is very much alive.
Find sleeping pills, sleep for 3 days, win the game... sounds like a lot of fun

They're not alive. They are re-animated corpses.
Jambie Lionheart (Bloqueado) 3 DIC 2024 a las 1:57
It's not really meant to be realistic.

Imagine trying to use logic on walking dead bodies.
Animalman 3 DIC 2024 a las 5:40
it can feel like that is what u want because they are such ♥♥♥♥♥ sometimes -> the zombies.
but in the end its a pretty bad idea regarding how fun that would be.
Lokaror 3 DIC 2024 a las 6:17
Its always interesting to see where people feel they need to draw the line at what makes sense for zombies. With the concept obviously the beggining is where most need to suspend disbelief but some people then lose theres at stuff like eating, seeing zombies breathe ect. I mean, a few years into PZ there should be like, no zombies because of decomposition if nothing else, right?
