Combat Stance Bug?

I have racked up quite a few hours, and this only happens occasionally, but when it does, it's devastating: Sometimes out of nowhere, while I am backing up and killing hordes with a gun, my movement speed while in the stance suddenly goes down significantly when going backwards. I have no moodles, yet it's just suddenly automatically slower, and I don't know how to revert it. This is in vanilla by the way.

What's your nimble skill level? I vaguely recall this being the result of using firearms with strong kick like a shotgun with low nimble skill.

I've never noticed kickback and the wiki doesn't mention it either. I think this is a result of turning while mid attack animation, since that usually slows you significantly. It's also not a mod because I play vanilla and this exists there.

Could be. All I can say that this did happen for me too, but not sure if it's the same case as OP's.

I was at level 0 nimble, but at the start and midway through my game up until about 2500 kills, I was able to be able to backpedal efficiently without them catching up, but now they catch up faster than I can rack another round. I noticed that the anxious moodle makes your combat stance slower, but even with that gone, it still seemed to be about half of what it used to be. It could just be an illusion, but at this point, I have no idea.

If you play with sprinters they have a mechanic where your character gets a massive speed reduction when they are in your face trying to bite you. I've had it bug out to where I try to lose some sprinter zombies through trees/bushes, bugging out their AI and applying slowdown to me even though I am far gone from the bush.

Huh, perhaps that is the case, but I meant like full vanilla, Apocalypse Settings; However, I did walk into hordes a few times so I think that might be the answer?
