Alarms
Do you just run when you set off an alarm?

Recent guy set off an alarm in a police station, tried to loot some, I had a bit of ammo, started fighting, got a back way out, and smaller town on the outskirts. I finally ran for it, hopped two high fences and kept running into mobs, must have been 150 - 200 around the station

I had killed 80 to loot the station, but man I didn't think it would get them in so fast

I find that doing a little arson before booking it can make the most out of a bad situation

I usually just stay put, but prepare to make an escape. If the population around the area is small, you can just fight off the incoming horde. If the population is big, you'll get surrounded outside anyway and won't be able to hide. It's better to get ready to kite the horde then run away.

It's not really the amount of zombies but how many weapons I have that decides if I run, if I have enough, I just corral them and then take them all out. If I don't have enough to deal with them then I run for it.

game settings change the choices quite a bit.

I think the zen mastery is that of not fighting the zombies but instead getting them to move where you want them.

Yeah, when I set off an alarm I get out of there because that alarm is going to bring every zombie in the area down on your head, so it's really in your best interest to not hang around too long after an alarm.

On the wiki, it says that alarms have a 300 tile radius, and considering how every building, industrial or residential, has the same sound, it probably applies to all of them. If you are in a densely populated area such as Louisville or Westpoint, you should run immediately, as you'll blow through at least 4 boxes of shells even if you hit every shot. In places like Rosewood or Muldraugh though? I think you should just loot what you can and then run for it, or just hold them off by circling them around the building till they are all dead.

That reminds me, I have to mod the noise radius of noise makers to be waaaaay higher. 17 tiles is a joke, it's not even as loud as a genny. Maybe make a few additions players could craft. Change the default to 25, another to 50, another to 100, and a yuge noise maker to 200.

That'd be rad.

EDIT: Aaaaaand done, lol.
