Tips for Day One mod?

Given it few tries now, first one failed on random zombonis right after spawning.

Second attempt got bombed while in a building.

Third attempt i thought i was doing pretty well till some bandit ran over to baseball bat me dead before could even react.

I know it's supposed to be hard but i'm used to being safe, hiding inside buildings and away from the hungry hordes.

Stay away from crowds, bombs are programmed to drop on buildings and large groups of zombies.

Try to not be inside while the day one event is going on. Easier to run around all day then get to the suburbs of town or something.

I watched some playthroughs of the mod, and apparently you need to gtfo of wherever your starting town is? Otherwise you'll get nuked to oblivion.
