Probably a better option would be to:
a) write down on paper your frustrations then burn the paper.
b) listen to some good death metal, and punch the wall with the rythm
c) the classic: eat your frustration away
d) the classic2: drink your frustration away
e) the classic3: enjoy others company while khm dealing with your frustration.
f) all of the above in an order you find appropriate:)
Life in general, and there's this crap update that just keep edging everyone every Thursdoid
Playing Terraria must have been a pretty bad idea
Never played it. I have a huge backlog...got myself now stuck in Gordian quest, but maybe i'll switch over to graveyardkeeper or Shardpunk:D
(Not to mention i still have not even tested out the new stuff about IFZ.
Nor the newest game mode in Against the Storm, Queen's something, which is unlocked once you complete the adamantium seal:P)
Yeah your opinion is valid. The majority of people are frustrated with the devs, development has been insanely slow, and they're not very well trained in public relations matters so it's just a pretty toxic relationship between the devs and the community, they tend to lock a lot of conversations down here and on Reddit.
Expect B42 either second half of December or midsummer of next year.
And while its okay to voice your frustrations it is when it become a pissing contest, toxic and no longer constructive that the threads get locked.
Trust me, don't do option (b). Boxers fractures are no fun, esp when using the bathroom.
Oh right my bad. I did not take into consideration that not everyone lives in a padded cell:)
For anyone who is not aware of the current stage of development that Vein is in:
While I am enjoying the heck out of Vein, as is, it is in a pre-alpha state and anyone trying it out should remember that it is free to play because of this.
It is obviously extremely raw; so much so that if it were a steak, it'd still be moo'ing. The devs are have been welcoming any-and-all bug reports from players. Even feature suggestions are still being considered.
Human NPCS are being added after animals in later build.
I have been playing valheim since it was released on early access I have over 1k hours in the game and i tried getting involved in the community but I had to stop because of how toxic it became with the community constantly harassing them with how slow they develop, constant negativity. I love the game but so far I have not been very impressed with the quality of the updates for the amount of time they have taken. Knowing that theyre close to 1.0... I am happy for them but at the same time it is disappointing and I am left with a "thats it?".
Either way you look at it still does not change the fact that every studio has different goals and it is not always as black and white as it may seem on the outside so that's probably why it seems like one game has developed at a faster pace. The game genres are completely different I can 100% say that project zomboid is way more in depth than valheim, Pz has its own engine where as valheim is built with unity engine.
The amount of manchildren and actual children harassing that guy would've ended with no Dwarf Fortress for anyone.
But they didn't. We are getting another update, and a good one at that. That is a good thing, not something to harass the devs over. It isn't the end of the world if it takes a while because the game is complete as is.
Play other games while you wait. Or join a good server, as those extended the game a lot. You're not meant to play just one game your entire life, branch out and play others and the wait will be over before you know it.
But that is the issue they cannot as it seems. It is build 42 or nothing, at least that is what i am getting from reading all these posts.
They are unhappy with how slow the development is. Well not much they can do about it, beside forming oppinions and demanding things. (Yes often demanding, sometimes outright extorting.)
The developers update via those thursdoid regularly, allthough with their latest and how it was perceived(of which i also stated my negativity) it would not be surprising if they actually reconsidered continueing it.
Because what happens, and i have seen this with multiple EA titles is, that many folks come and start to make demands how things should be, what the updates should contain, what the developers should focus on, what they should include...and the list goes on.
Like as if you paid 15-25 dollars for a game in development would give you the right to actually...claim ownership of the development.
It has been explained a lot of time why development takes such a long time and why they chose this development path. Most of the folks dont really understand it, simply because it is out of their skillset or knowledge. Even when some folks break it down, they do not seem to understand it or actually take the time to consider it. They do not have an engine that is widely used so they can't just import certain packages and pay a bit for those. They have to implement and therefore develop these methods themselves.
TIS in the past has written that with B41 they came to a crossroad regarding how they should continue with the game.
They had the option to release it, and after patching it up be done with it, and get their other "visions and ideas" for the game implemented in a different way, which likely would include further purchase of products, or stay in EA and continue the work on the same game they have so far developed. They chose the latter.
Which already is a very consumer and customer friendly approach that we hardly see these days.
But chosing this direction it seems means that many customers who already have spent tens, hundreds or even thousands of hours in the game (making it already well worth the money for the players that purchased it) started to think that this means they can form demands and act many times in ways that are not really acceptable.
And with the above i think this likely means that i am a member of the 5-6 glazers:P
So glaze me away:D
