I would say the combat in this version is like 2/10. The UI needs a lot of work as well if not a complete overhaul. UI is like 4/10. So no it overall probably is not the best.

No love for CDDA? Not just zombies though. I would say project zomboid is a better game, but CDDA with DDoTD mod is probably the most in depth zombie game, one that PZ has certainly taken inspiration from.

Depends on genre, if you like the RPG element or moving looting, this is a great game

Left 4 Dead franchise is unbeatable for FPS coop game

Dead Rising, is less RPG than Zomboid, but I think for the first two games, they were more fun for the action fighting elements, however you do not have RPG or open world compared to Zomboid

Dead Frontier 2 is a free game I have played for years, over the shoulder loot and shoot game, I think the 1st game had better base things and RPG choices, but the second is a far better combat game

And going WAY back, UrbanUndead web based multiplayer was very fun, very balanced, all zombies and humans were player accounts

l4d was one of my favs for a long time there, gosh that game was so good when it came out , always down to try new zomber games so pretty cool seeing all the different opinions to look up on steam, that being said havent found one that i play as much as pz but it really just depends on personal preference really i think
