Map mods opinions
As in mods that add new locations to explore. Have you ever used them? Do they make the game too easy with too much loot?

They do look nice from what I saw. Not sure how balance will work out.

I played with several. Coryerdon and Tandil in particular to expand the north over the river and south past March Ridge. Eerie Country is also pretty nice, but it conflicts with Tandil.

These mods don't change loot distribution, so they are just more area to loot and to explore. Nothing breaking the game's balance.

I use Fort Redstone but that's because I'm a gun goblin. With no loot respawns I need all that sweet ammo.

A lot of map mods seem too similar to vanilla imo and only some people nowadays try to make their map mods look somewhat different from vanilla cities, and I don't understand why would I install some vanilla-style map if actual vanilla Zomboid map exists wich I can launch and play on w/o any mods that's imitate it somehow.

The "too much loot" problem is fixable with sandbox optiong in one click, though I've heard some people complaining about this "problem" but they seem to not know what sandbox gamemode is in PZ then. When I played modded maps, I usually played on urban maps like Raven Creek, Daegu, Project Russia (specifically on Dolgoprudny city, this map's huge), Trelai, Cherbourg, and it was much harder playing there rather than on a rural vanilla map where I could simply loot half of West-Point if I'd do that in a very stealthy and quiet way (wich I often succeed to to) and then I'd just go to chill somewhere in rural countryside. On vanilla map, I've never had much problem with loot or avoiding/escaping zombie hordes, though when I play on urban map mods listed above, it's somewhat harder to play there in comparsion with vanila map's difficulty level.

I especially like Daegu as it's both urban (and it also means that it'd make more sence to play there with higher-than-normal zombie population setting, rather than playing in some small town in KY) and it also looks completely different from vanilla map due to a different geographical setting (S. Korea), so it felt really good to play on after I've explored whole vanilla map, and I still didn't get bored of it (played on Daegu for liek 1K-2K hours already).

There's also Cherbourg map mod, wich I also like playing, as it fits really well with some 28 Days Later-style sandbox options, liked that movie i.g and such map mods help imitating the vibe of this movie really well.
