Project Zomboid

Project Zomboid

What are the symptoms of zombification?
my char is now almost 2 months alive. Power off since 1 month, water off for about 1/2 month. Carpentry 5 and 7 water barrels. Farming up and running. Currently skilling cooking! Got a fortification complex of 2 2 story houses and workshop in WP.

Today, i loaded up the game for the purpose of having a short break from my work. I ran for a rolling pin to start making delicious pies. Next thing you know one of those high speed ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s jumps me out of a tree right next to me. Killed that lucker but ended up with a scratch on my right forearm! I immediately ran home to bandage it.

I'm waiting now for several days but no sign of an infection (I'm not sure about my sandbox time setting for infection). Nevertheless, I feel as if I would get earlier tired now (not very much tho). Sometimes it's suddenly too warm so that I have to take off my sweater (its currently about last week of september with quite a lot of thunderstorms) even though I switched from blouse to sweater weeks ago!

Are these symptoms of zombification? Also note: I still see my right forearm bandaged in green letters when opening the health screen!

On a side note,
I really wanna give some props to the devs! One day you feel like the terminator the next day you make one stupid mistake and end up with a scratch! This game is so much deeper than most games out there what makes the zombie apoc way more fun for mature gamers like me! Please no stupid mainstream BS as soon as the game gets more popular! I almost feel like playing baldur's gate or jagged alliance 2 which should be a huge compliment for the devs of this game!!

Yeah, you should be fine.

Unless you got a bite and started feeling sick (Moodles would tell you) you should be fine...

Though it's still a good idea try and "Ward off" the infection, but for now try not to get bit.

Yes, i read that being well-fed should help at least fighting getting a cold! Until now I was doing exactly that!

Are you saying that the "feeling sick" moodle pops up relatively early and that I'm safe cause the scratch happend several days ago already? This getting earlier tired and complaining about heat thing really makes me paranoid, HaHa!!

You had luck brah

If you get queasy or sick within 48 hours of being bitten or scratched you are very likely infected. You can stave off the ifnection with drugs. But you will eventually succumb to the infection. There is a tiny % chance when bitten you don't get infected. Significantly more chance if it's just a scratch.

thx, dude! I'm far beyond two days. Prolly about 5 or 6. I was cooking soups, stews and pies like crazy what was actually quite convenient due to the fact that I was skilling cooking/farming anyway, only that that zed made the whole excercise way more exciting!

I read bites are a 99% chance but rare. Scratches like 25%.

I only wonder tho why the health screen still shows me the bandaged arm? Will it stay there indefinitely?

yeah the game devs are planning on fixing the health tab thing with the bandages, also this is just a rumor but aparently in the next update zombies will be able to get arms/legs blown of or choped of AND that you can tie zeds to chairs ( i will chop off a zeds arms and legs then tie him up and call him willson)

I haven't read that and I call B.S. right now unless you can provide links to someone reputable saying it.

Moderator/tech support, if you're referring to me as "the dev."

Still part of the zomboid team.

Actually (if this is like every other forum ever) he isn't, this is just a volunteer from the community who knows some stuff about tech support and is willing to devote time to managing the forums.
