crazy thuder storm with no rain?

they going for a heat lightning thing or is this a bug? last night i had a raging thunderstorm without a drop of rain...

also thank god we cant get struck by lightning! i was up on my wall building a walkway along the top edge through the whole thing, well above the tops of the trees. in all realism i should have been killed...
