First week start
Has anyone made it far after starting a new game off in first week? When did the zombie count start increasing?

I built a fort at the farm around the outskirts of Muldraugh and it feels as if the game is 'beat', self sustaining and cozy. In build 32 I had to deal with a lot more in getting a nice farm started, it also needed to be defended more often.

The population does increase right? Is this the replacement for first bite mode? With the low numbers and high amount of loot it seems effortless to build a super base but this seems to be the standard start by description.

My char "Chuck Norris" is now alive for 30 days and killed nearly 1000 zeds in this time.
I set up my base in Cortmans house, the power went down on day 14 and that was the date when the helicopter show up over my base, i just started my generator and that was a big mistake.

Due my electrician trait i was able to craft some nice tools to lure most of the zeds away, but you see in the screenshot the dancing party is still going.

Then i thought well why not shot them (i found 300 shot gun bullets) and that was my second mistake.

This is a Survival game and i guess my 3, mistake was that i took the clumsy trait, anyway the helicopter showed up so far 3 times and i think now i can do it for a longer time, but i dont think i will go looting in the next days, i just need to improve my base and the farm to survive a longer time.
cortman medical is great and horific at the same time.

Wow. Maybe they're just more urban now.

It's just that I'm almost 1.5 months in now, tending to a fractured leg, and haven't killed more than 3 zombies in about a month. None banging on my walls, no moans, no helicopters, none seeming to be around when I hear gunshots. With how fast things grow now it's nice as the fort is now becoming surrounded with new trees, the vines growing up the side of the house giving it a cute nature aesthetic.

As it is now there just doesn't seem to be any defense required of this place like in 32, or a fluke is happening. With the fracture and slow healer trait it doesn't seem like a good idea to see how things have changed just yet.

I'm at 1 month+

700 dead zeds in West Point Giga Mart.

I do a street sweep around the area every day to pick off stragglers (quietly) and keep everything nice and neat whilst turning Giga mart into the dread fort.

The danger is whilst you'll establish a safe zone and keep it kinda clean they'll be hoarding somewhere just outside your perimeter so you should do the odd wide circuit. When I find those i get to the outside edge furtherest away from the town centre then use something nice and noisy (like a 12 guage) to lead them away and break the group up.

I remember the first time i played. I had cleared my entire house before walking out into the sreet, where a giant wave of zombies came out from behind houses and gang banged me to death. there were literally no gaps, they had completely sourrounded me.

The last time I played, I had most of the settings turned up, so that I could re-loot houses, and water never ran out, all that sort of thing. I could have survived indefinately, but after a few days, I threw my toon out of a second story window, three times.

I might have ruined the game slightly, since it was more about Zombie Bashing, than actually surviving.

I was hoping for Cars at some point, hopefully not too long away, because, my intention is to treat PJZ, like a modern day GTA 1, but with Zombies.

If I was taking it as a serious survival game, I would have all of the settings turned to as low as possible. That is one of the features though that sets this game appart, it's level of customization, and the, I feel, fact that you can play PJZ as a hard core game, or as a casual game, in fact, you could probably play it, any way you felt like playing it at the time.

In my mind, PJZ is probably the only true Classic Zombie Survival Game on the market today.

I'm 2 months into "The First Week" game mode, and still have power and water. It has always gone out between 2 - 4 weeks in other games. I had a heli show up at the North Muldraugh Farm In the 2nd week, many zombies swarmed the farm, but since then it's been pretty quiet. Haven't noticed the zombie count going up, like it did on build 32 survival mode. I'm playing on normal diffuculty, starting to think living at North Farm is too easy on these settings.

I was confused on the settings at first. It's the survival mode, right after the 6 months later mode.

Now it's harder than build 32 at least.

I've been trying to conquer the First Week (last time I played I never got beyond easy mode or a very easy sandbox). Soon as the helicopter shows up I'm toast.

Haven't gotten beyond 2 weeks yet. Current game has been lucky but my go-bags are by the window just in case.
