Is Twiggy's a good home on Westpoint?
Hello I am new to this game and have a played about 3 games so far and I know Westpoint a bit. In the previous games I have always made my home on outskirts of town and hasn't ended good, lol. So far I am going to make Twiggy's my home. Raided the warehouse and got a sledgehammer and raided the houseware store so I have 3 axes. I am thinking of either going a wooden wall with plaster on it or a log wall. What do you guys think?

Twiggy's a good spot to hole up if you're not a complete beginner. It's close enough to get to the main stores and not too close so that you get massive hordes. I'd suggest a wooden wall, log walls take a massive amount of lumber and time to make (although I use the wooden dowel mod).

If you don't mind exploiting the game, you can also remove the stairs and build an entrie base upstairs complete with floating skybridges to eg the river to fish.

If you can clear a good enough perimeter and set up a wall, Twiggy's is pretty perfect.

Right by the river so you can fish.
It's far enough out of town that you can forage around it.
It's close enough to the shopping district so looting that Hardward Store is like Christmas. And there's a book store just up the street from the hardware store. (The post office next door also has a good selection of magazines and skill books)

And if you get there early enough you can loot the GigaMart for tons of perishable and non-perishable food.

Also, a little ways south is a gas station, some kind of factory(good for supplies) and a storage locker facility with tons of good loot. If you have a sledgehammer already, bring it with you to the storage lockers. Some of them require breaking into.

It's my go to spot for survival mode. You should do fine there if you know how to handle zombies.
