Game not pausing on alt-tab anymore?

Im on game version 41.78.7 and it used to auto-pause when alt-tabbed out to windows (when fullscreen). But now for some reason, that auto-pause doesn't happen anymore.

How do I get auto pause back when alt-tabbing?

It did for me. Whenever I would alt-tab out to windows, the game would instantly auto-pause. I liked this feature. But now for some reason it doesn't do it anymore. I don't know why, game is still in Fullscreen mode, so it's not because I changed it to Windowed or Borderless. But I've been reading about auto-pausing on alt-tabbing or losing focus, and seeing many old and new posts on reddit and Steam requesting this and unfortunately it seems from what people write, that is not and never was a feature that the developers had made for the game; but that it must have been a glitch or bug something that caused my game to auto-pause on alt-tab. Though I find it really weird that the devs have yet not implemented such an auto-pause feature. It pains me to learn this fact in this way, that all this time, this a feature I like about the game, was actually just a bug....

It did not.
There was a time when a windows update effed up for many players certain games. Where while they were playing suddenly it placed it in the background thus forcefully alt tabbing them out of the game. A lot of guys lost their characters this way. (Including me) It was somewhere around 2020-21 if i recall well.
Not just PZ but other games were affected as well, then it magically went away with a win update.
This can occasionally still happen but usually it is nowadays cuz of a gpu driver and a reinstall fixes it. Though havent heard of a similar issue at least in regards to PZ in a while.

"it did not". Yes it did. For me. I have no idea why it doesn't happen anymore, or why it then even had been happening at all. I don't think I have ever had this happen before: that a really useful feature that I had enjoyed for a long time, suddenly turns out to be a bug that stops occurring and then I miss it. It's not opposite day today is it? Because that would explain it. But according to google that's January 25th and we're in July now so.. can't be that either.

are you still playing alone? i have to ask cause the feature only works in solo - one of you mods adds a player

There has never been any auto pause for the game, to my knowledge. At least not in my experience playing the game for the last 2 years or so. Vanilla or not.

Though who knows. Maybe it's related to fullscreen setting and whatnot? I always run my game in borderless window.

There is an AKF Auto-Pause(SP) mod.
Which i am guessing the OP has and totally forgot about it.
And if he has it forgot to check the discussion page of it, since it got updated about 10 days ago, and in order for the update to take effect it needs to be removed and readded. So most likely this is why it is not working for him.
So i am guessing a mod related issue.

So next time please whenever you post something say you are playing modded.
