Build 41 cannot dig with trowel

After putting the dirt on the ground it is not possible to dig with the trowel.
The menu always shows the digging with bare hands button.

Is one of the new gardening tools required instead of the trowel?

To answer my own question, the shovel is used to dig the furrows now.
So it seems that the trowel is a useless junk item in build 41?

I use trowel all the time for my gardening purposes on build 41. Maybe you have a mod that modified the item.

Do not see this issue in a vanilla game - can use all (related, obv) tools to garden. So, yeah, any mods?

The mods I currently use are:
Better Item Category Labels
BookCollection
Quick Containers
Vehicle Parts Repair

They shouldn't do anything to the farming tools AFAIK

And that's what broke your game. It overwrites the trowel script, and it's 5 years old, so that overwritten script is not compatible with the new tags systems that PZ now uses.

Honestly, using any mod that overwrites/modifies vanilla items is gonna cause issue like this, especially with how b41 is getting updated every week or two and the devs are constantly improving the item systems.

I've just thrown away the trowel (along with the outdated Mod) and use a newly scavenged hand fork for digging now.
