Items Disappearing

Hey everyone, having an issue that I've Googled and can't seem to figure out so thought I'd try here.

I host a server so my wife and I can play co-op together but at least once per world (we restart if one of us dies) we'll have items disappear from a container in our trunk. I had a duffle bag full of supplies and when I checked later the duffle bag remained but everything inside was gone for example.

We do play with mods but I'm not convinced it's the issue because I play with the same mods solo and I don't have the same problem. I know items can fall out of the trunk but it's not the cause because the car will be parked and stationary and it'll happen. It also only happens with vehicles, never storage in houses or anywhere else.

Anyone else have the same issue, and if so, have you found a fix?

What is the condition of the trunk?

vanilla makes it so that if its low stuff will fall out
id suggest taking more care of the trunk if it keeps happening

I can confirm that sometimes things just vanish. Then I'm looking like a fool, but I can't find the things anymore. In my latest run in SP I 'lost' a bullet proof vest an 2 pairs of boots....

It's not the trunk, as I've said. It happens when the vehicle is parked and untouched. Even still, the trunk is closed and in good condition.

Yeah it's super frustrating, I haven't had it happen single player but I'm multiplayer we've definitely had things go missing from our vehicle.

Maybe a mod conflict, never happened to me / us.

Is the server open? My buddy had someone raiding his base but only taking one or two things at a time. LOL It drove him a bit crazy as he ran around saying, "I swore I jack!"

I've also run into something, typically just with trash bags though, where if I take a trash bag and then empty the trash, it takes the bag out of my inventory and deletes it as if it was still in the trash.

It's a possibility but I am doubtful because I play solo with the same mods and I don't have the same issue.

It's just a private server for my wife so that's not happening to us but that's hilarious lol.

Keep in mind some mods works flawless in singleplayer, but can be broken in multiplayer. Best you check the used mods what the modders say about, sp and mp..or maybe only sp.

Try playing vanilla for the time being. See if it's any different.
Just like the rest above, I'm suspecting mod issue.
But it's also possible that there's something wrong with the way you shutdown your server as well.
You might forget to type /save or other improper way of shutting down a server.

For single player games, this kind of issue is usually caused by that, improper game shutdown, by ragequitting or game crash or mod issue or something like that.
