In my experience I tried playing with someone in Michigan and I live in California, I don't have the best internet since I use a cell tower for a connection, so my ping is around 100-120, what happens here is cars will rubberband (if I ride in them I get stuck in a black void till I relog) or phantom zombies start appearing after they are killed by the other player, maybe some take awhile to load in and just sorta teleport (scary) so I mostly have to play house keeper or run around solo (since I don't have lag by myself if far enough away)
As for vehicles if I drive around sometimes the wrecks spawn in late and I crash into them ruining my vehicle, it's rough to drive around without going very slowly and towing the wrecks away so future driving won't have suddenly loading car directly inside you.
Anyway if you regularly play with your friends and you know your ping to any of them won't go above 90 then it should behave till you go too far with mods.
EndNote: Be careful no matter what around vehicles as that is loading a lot of things all at once for multiple players and anything can happen even with low ping so have anyone drive further ahead or at least say over Voice chat what lane you are driving on and be a distance back, never know if a spike will hit and teleport into each other and instantly die.
You'll have more problems if you play on dense custom maps and/or with boosted zombie populations as well. In this case you'll lag by having your client freeze up as it attempts to render all of the floors and all of the zombies in visual range of your character.
There is some work on the game backbone to solve this problem, but right now running through a custom map like Raven Creek with populations even a little boosted is a good way to lock up the client and get booted.
Thank you for clarifying :)
You know what? Thank god that this is a thing, since due to the fact that I have a very bad performance with PZ and in mp when my game freezes I would've thought I'd be standing afk while my friends watch me hopelessly getting eaten alive, but that wasn't the case and I had the chance to survive another more hours.
As far as I remember this issue has been fixed a few patches ago. But I recommend you to test those sync issues related to vehicle immediately and refund it in case the issue still persist and you and your friends find it unacceptable.
Sry for bad english.
My friends and I are having this problem, even after these updates. Is there another method to fix it? Or do we simply have to put the maximum speed of cars on the server and hope the worst doesn't happen?
