How to increase zombie health?
Trying to go for a run where theres not a lot of zombies but the few that there are, are extremely tough. So is there a way to dramatically increase their health so it takes multiple shots from guns/blows from melee weapons through mods or in game methods?

just to keep in mind, the jawstab with knives and the spear dont need to deal damage to kill, the jawstab just outright instakills zombies when it connects and the spear just has a random chance to instantly kill anything it hits, retanaru made a video about this showing a spear dealing 0 damage killing a zombie.

additionally ground attacks on zombies deal so much damage that only really weak weapons will need to strike multiple times to kill a downed zombie, assuming you arent tired/exhausted that is.

so in a setting with reduced zombie numbers that are tougher the knives ability to instakill which only works on isolated targets as well as the spears charge strike and random chance to kill outright will become significantly more useful.

its also likely better to just shove a zombie till it falls over then smack its head in with a hammer or crowbar.

oh and uh... even with the toughness setting a high enough aim skill is still going to one shot most zombies with most guns.

Alright I'll give this a try and see how it goes. Thanks.

So this mod only works for vanilla melee weapons and guns. Which for someone like me who is heavy on mods that add weapons sadly wont be an option.

Did that already but its not the increase I was hoping for. Im looking for every encounter to be a mini boss fight almost. Think the night zombies in Dying Light.

Good to know. I dont think I've ever touched a spear in my almost 300 hours on this game lol. Didnt know they could insta kill like the knife.

There's a mod where you basically get hunted by a single unkillable zombie, similar to RE3's Nemesis. I don't remember the name though, and I don't know if that's your thing,

What comes to my mind is undead zombies. Like in Dwarf Fortress, such a zombie would be nothing more than a moving dead body (without any mind or soul of its own, just a body possessed by unnatural forces). It's against PZ lore (because it involves magic) but would provide adequate challenge if modded into the game and required the same methods of elimination as in Dwarf Fortress (you can look up that game's wiki to learn what the exact requirements would be to strike them down). I imagine fighting them would be much more frightening and difficult (spoiler: guns would lose much of their usefulness, contrary to flamethrowers and explosives). Can't even imagine surviving in an undead sprinter apocalypse (unless they would really appear as solitary individuals or pairs at worst).

Yeah that sounds about like what Im going for. Not large numbers but just 1 is enough to run you through a good bit of ammo if you shoot it, or stamina if you try to beat it to death or run from it. With how much there is to customize in PZ Im pretty shocked there isnt a way to make this happen, even through mods seemingly. Right now I have the strength and resilience (health, cant think of what its called in the settings) cranked up and its good for the melee weapons but firearms still kill in one shot. So its almost there but not quite. Im not gonna bother to decrease their numbers at this stage because it would be too easy even with my current settings.
