Try to build up axes with maintenance then go stone axes once you are maxed out, pair with high fitness you will be hitting all day without really getting tired, one kill hitting too, as they have higher crit chance. usually starts to become strong around lvl 4 maintenance 5-6 axe skill. only weapon that can compete with spears, you can for sure go World record killing based on stone axes.

You should test it out, i had a fighting once early game killing 400 zeds didnt even need a break, that wont happen with spears. Spears are awesome too, but can get old to only use those :-)

The reason I actually use spears is because of the dual purpose they have. I can also fish with them. It is actually why I brought up the Lumberjack thing being more for builders. You are using the axes as weapons and chopping trees. It just fits. Once you get high up in spears you really do not need breaks as well in all honesty. I can take out a good 200 or so which is very respectable being a two handed weapon. I might try it though I do smell a spear nerf very near in the future anyways.

Well true :-) i was talking about a sustainable high kill weapon, that has almost half the endurance cost compared to say crowbars,

Stone axes 1,2 weight + higher crit chance. if you take spears longer distance out of the picture, best weapon in game long term.
Crowbars 2.0 weight lower crit chance.

Once the foraging is up, dont really mind looking up some chipped stone, you will find more than you can ever use and have better durability compared to spears.

To be fair before the foraging overhaul it was easier for this "build".
I gained most of my experience regarding stone axes before the forageing overhaul. (Since i usually start in a random place and in winter and max pop it takes a while till i can start foraging:P)
But if i recall well i used to test it out in muldraugh, and i was surprised even on very low levels how useful it was. Even with 0 axe and 0 fitness, i could use a stone axe to kill about 6-8 zombies before needing to take a break or having the stone axe break.
You can also use it to break down doors, beside cutting wood. :)

I honestly don't like Crowbars apart from for the one or two jobs its used for. What are they again? Window replacement lol. Crowbar ain't all that. I sometimes won't even grab it. I'm more of a Wooden Malet wielder. I like the mallets and i like a good combo of a short blunt and short blade.

Normally i find 75% on maintenance is satisfactory. Honestly maintenance isn't that useful if it doesn't buff repair quality. and i would only really play it now a days not to preserve a melee weapon but just to preserve the m16.

Well with short blades it is noticeable. Killing 10 zombies with a hunting knife or 60 really makes a difference.:)

True, you will also having trouble using more than 6-8 spears with max out maintenance and spear skill, with stone axes you wont be able to use 6 if you fight from morning to sleep time. also usefull in a max out all strat using katanas and machetes. A spear (standard) have roughly a 100 kills in each, stoneaxes some 150 or so never counted those.

Theres the dream that is without modifying XP gain settings, or using cheats to actually have adequet maintenance as to not waste the rare items like machet and katan and the formidable m16, BUt the dream would be 8 maintenance 6 to 8. But often doing that is like gimping yourself. Since you might have these items and always wait for the time you are more worthily ready to use them. Like you feel like 10 swings that katana is out so its a waste to use it so i'l just grind some mainenance and take forever and dream of the time i might use it effectively.

One of them caught me alight
Burnt the character and the unused rifle on her back.

I usually sit on a horde of fireams, and barely if ever use them. (Beside the time if the helicopter catches me home and brings too many friends:D) I actually save most of the high end stuff, most likely never using them. I am just soo used to use the more common items, or go hand to hand instead:)

One of the rules of my games. Cannot use fire to get rid of zombies.
