How to (cheat) change skills ingame (singleplayer)
I'd like to change some skills in my current game, like up the aim skill a couple of points. Is there a way to do this?

Enable debug mode.
There will be a menu that will allow you to add/remove traits and skills level.

EDIT: NEVERMIND! I found it, I had accidentally entered a debug menu that was not the correct place, I found the correct button you referenced:

Would you be able to give me a little hint where exactly I look for skills on my player character? Here in the screenshot I clicked on my player in the game and to the left I could see "objects on square" and my players name "Kate" mentioned there in the entry for "IsoPlayer type=MAX", so I clicked on that and a long list below appear. I tried looking through this list but to my observation I cannot see any skills mentioned here. Is it the correct place? Also clicking in this list has no effect, none of the list entries are selectable.

You could just use the Jack of All Traits mod. It allows you to give yourself as many points, or deduct as many in any skill you want. You can set it in options to be a positive trait that gives you points, or a negative one that take points, if you want to balance it out to not feel OP.

I use it to start the game knowing how to hotwire and hit a target 2 feet from my barrel without missing 3 times.

Yes that's a a good idea for starters :) Here though I wanted to add some points during my game so not at the start.
