CROWBAR OR AXE
Ive been thinking about it for some time, which is better? me personally I like crowbar for early game and mid game because it dosent damage clothing and you can get into survivor houses easier, but I like axe in endgame because it does more damage. what do you guys think?

Crowbar for the durability, no damage to clothes, and the utility (with mods) to pry open doors and windows. Plus it levels long blunt, which allows me to swap to a nail bat which is my favorite weapon even with the lower durability.

crowbars last forever and weigh less but do less damage than axes. What weapon I take out depends on what I'm doing. Scouting/looting it's the crowbar. If I'm clearing an area it's the axe
Specifically, if I am clearing the trees around my base and the path to my trapping camp.

(i used noir's sling mod) i equip fireaxe on my back and crowbar in sling for opening doors (and as a backup when axe break mid-fight)

Bats are way better than crowbars at low skill. Twice the base crit. Way more knockdowns. Same base damage. Crowbars have slightly better crit damage, so probably catch up at very high skill. But then when you get a little maintenance, might as well upgrade to nailbat. Sure, crowbars take forever to break, but they're also super common so it's kind of moot. Maintenance training is maybe a 5% difference. Better to go with the weapon that's going to dish out more damage to skill up faster. Then try crowbar to see if it's good enough if you prefer having to swap/repair less often.

Axes eat a bit more stamina but they 1-hit way sooner.

I don't really have a long blunt vs axe dilemma. Whichever one was cheapest to get a skill bonus in.

I never go low-fitness so knives' 0-stamina thing is less exciting to me, but they are worth leveling as a backup when I go burger-flipper/baseball-player. I like having some reach though. Knives aren't my favorite when dealing with larger groups of zeds.

Haven't gotten around to spear. I get the pros but slow to level + replacement/carrying multiple seems like a bit of an early game drag. I like machetes when I don't have a weapon with an XP boost because they're quite good at lvl 0.

Crowbar is a training stick, not much else. After that move to axe or spear.
