Once you're able to survive for over a month start to branch out into modded content
What's the point of jumping into the deep end of Britas Weapon Mod if you don't find Gun Gameplay enjoyable?
There is a lot of stuff in this game and a lot of it gets used for things but some things don't. It can take awhile to learn what is useless and what aint, this mod helps tremendously with that.
Sure, some people might get enjoyment from figuring out obfuscated game information, but a lot of us have limited free time and don't want to spend that time figuring out how much the "tired" debuff decreases your damage (answer: it's a lot).
- Weapon condition indicator (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2619072426): tells you how much durability your equipped/hotbar weapons have. I am now playing totally vanilla and it is the mod I am missing the most. Makes the information more accessible.
- Noodle Quarters (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2854030563): if you are bad at guessing what shade of green/red your moodle is, this mods adds a pointy end to the circles for every stage. For example, 1 for Peckish, 2 for Hungry, 3 for Very Hungry, 4 for Starving. Again, it doesn't reveal anything the devs didn't want you to see, it just makes info more accessible.
EDIT: Steam doesn't like the links, but if you search the mods by their name, you should find them in the workshop.

advanced trajectory
those are all the mods i currently play with, they all dont change the way the game plays, it just adds helpful quality of life additions into it that will either save your life, or just make it more managable. the only exception is the advanced trajectory mod, which i HIGHLY recommend all players use if they dont want guns to be absolute trash like they are in the vanilla game
have fun!
