Lost my mp character after moving save files
i recently moved my mp server to my second computer while visiting some relatives, but as i go to host the server it pops up in the list of servers to host, but when i start it, i get asked to pick a spawn location and make a character etc

i transferred the server file, and that specific server player file, and the server folder
is my character just lost until i get back to my other computer or is there a fix to this predicament?

Did you perhaps change your Steam username or play on a split-screen on that character? That can cause a character change as well.

Not sure in that case, are you loading the correct map / save file?

the server appears in the list when i go to host, and "delete player" appears as well, but when i host the server i get asked to make a new character

I am not sure then, you could try editing the players.db file in the server folder and make sure the username matches up, other than that I would mostly recommend making a new character and giving back skills by using the admin powers.

How would i go about editing it?

Find the file in the save folder of the server in C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid\Saves
Edit it using a database edit tool, such as SQLite Studio

Thanks for all the help but i think im just going to wait until i get back to my other computer instead, i've never encountered a game that needed you to be this involved to just move saves
